The NHL announced today that all players will be required to rest from a minimum of five games per week and a maximum of 15 games per month in the wake of the recent pandemic.
It’s the second season in a row that the league has implemented the five-game rule.
The league also announced that it will be providing a new $25,000 bonus to all players who receive a clean bill of health during the six-week lockout.
It also said it will make its team doctors available for emergency treatment for players.
The NHL Players Association is also launching a new campaign aimed at helping players recover and regain health and fitness.
Players will receive free health screenings, free medical assessments, and other support in the coming weeks.
The players association also announced a number of new initiatives aimed at preventing future pandemics, including creating an online tool for players to report a player to the NHL for possible suspension.
